We are excited to welcome Zoe Beck, VP of Sustainability at HCA Healthcare, for the third installment of the Private Sector and the Planet speaker series on Tuesday March 24 at 12:10CT. Her talk is called "Leading Sustainability in Practice: Corporate Responses to Climate Risk."

As healthcare systems increasingly confront the environmental impacts of their operations, Zoe Beck will discuss how large healthcare organizations are integrating sustainability into business strategy, patient care environments, and long-term resilience planning. Drawing on her leadership at one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers, she will explore the role of the private sector in advancing climate solutions while maintaining operational excellence and improving community health outcomes. This conversation will highlight how sustainability initiatives within healthcare intersect with corporate governance, innovation, and environmental stewardship, offering insight into how private institutions can drive meaningful environmental progress across complex and highly regulated industries.

Zoe Beck is the Assistant Vice President of Sustainability at HCA Healthcare. In her role she leads the company’s efforts in sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and convenes stakeholders to develop and advance initiatives in areas including environmental performance, health equity and reporting transparency. Prior to her current position, she led the sustainability and ESG efforts for HealthTrust and Premier, two of the largest healthcare group purchasing organizations. In these positions, she worked with industry suppliers, member health systems and other stakeholders to advance efforts in environmentally preferred purchasing, supplier diversity, and supplier transparency to assist health systems in advancing their sustainability and ESG goals. Zoe earned an MBA and Master of Environmental Management from Duke University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
