Jennifer Easler
Ms. Easler, Iowa’s Consumer Advocate, leads the Office of Consumer Advocate, a division of the Iowa Department of Justice, responsible for representing the interests of all customers and the public generally before the Iowa Utilities Board and proceedings before state and federal courts and agencies with the goal of ensuring that Iowa utility consumers have access to reliable and adequate utility service at just and reasonable rates.
Prior to being appointed Consumer Advocate by Attorney General Tom Miller in 2020, Ms. Easler served as an attorney in the Office of Consumer Advocate for more than 20 years.
Ms. Easler serves on the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates and the National Council on Electricity Policy (administered by the national association of utility regulators). She has represented the Public Consumer Sector at the Midcontinent Independent System Transmission Operator (MISO) which administers MISO’s stakeholder planning process and public policy-based transmission planning, and has led consumer advocate coalitions in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
