Events and programming made possible by the Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative (HELI) engage the College of Law with some of today’s most pressing environmental law issues. Events this fall feature discussions on land use in the Midwest, biodiversity, wildfire management, prescribed burns, and water in the Western United States.

This Fall, the Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative (HELI) launched the first environmental law field course at the University of Iowa, with the help and support of the University of Iowa Wildlife Instruction and Leadership Development (UI WILD) team and the UI College of Education.

This Earth Day, Iowa Law celebrates the expansion of environmental law opportunities for students, alumni, and the larger community in Iowa and beyond.

Leshy, emeritus distinguished professor at University of California College of Law San Francisco, to Iowa City for a discussion titled “Our Common Ground: Why America’s Public Lands Are a Political and Conservation Success Story.”

The Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative (HELI) is excited to announce the addition of a new full-time staff member to the Initiative. Ingrid Gronstal, JD joined HELI as the HELI Research Fellow on January 31, 2023.
